Rawlinsons are the lead Cost Managers providing quantity surveying services to inform and advise Waimea Water Limited (WWL) on the construction of the Waimea Community Dam. The Waimea Community Dam is the largest dam to be built in New Zealand for more than 20 years, and involves construction of a 53m high concrete faced, rockfill dam in the Lee Valley 20km southeast of Brightwater. The 5km reservoir will store 13.4 million cubic metres of water to be released during dry periods for irrigation, town water supplies, industry and for maintaining new minimum river flows.

The Waimea Community Dam Reservoir | Te Kurawai o Pūhanga has reached its full capacity and the spillway commenced flowing on, Sunday 21 January 2024. The size of the reservoir mitigates the impact of a drought greater than a 1:50 year event.
