Completed in 2012, this project comprised a new sports and aquatic precinct including an indoor 25m pool, hydrotherapy and toddler pools with change facilities transitioning to a two court multisport basketball hall, two international specification squash courts, and first-floor gymnasium, multipurpose facility and viewing deck.
The outdoor amenities included a full-size artificial hockey pitch, dugouts, lighting and fencing.
Challenges included a completely out of town Consultant team (New Plymouth and Wellington), coupled with an out of town Contractor (Nelson).
Rawlinsons provided full QS services from feasibility, estimating, value engineering, tendering, contract financial administration and final account negotiation, as well as a client representation and consultation role to Council.
