Recent Workshop Examines the Next 30 Years

On 9 June 2021, Rawlinsons hosted the first in a series of workshops between Infrastructure New Zealand and the New Zealand Infrastructure Commission (Te Waihanga), at our offices in Christchurch.

These workshops gathered members of Infrastructure NZ to discuss the strategy consultation document released by Te Waihanga in May 2021—Infrastructure for a Better Future. This document collated the results of the recent Our Aotearoa 2050 survey, which asked New Zealanders for their opinion on infrastructure issues facing the country. The document uses this feedback to suggest detailed steps in three key action areas. It also addresses the challenges infrastructure projects face and concerns with current policies.

Feedback from diverse sectors across New Zealand is key as Te Waihanga looks to fine-tune New Zealand’s first 30-year infrastructure plan. They will present the finalised document to the Minister of Infrastructure in September 2021.

The inaugural workshop provided insightful feedback on the proposed action areas and Rawlinsons was glad to provide space for the discussions.
