Leonard re-joined Rawlinsons in 2006, having initially trained in our Dunedin office (commencing in 1998), then travelling overseas to build his quantity surveying experience. He became a Rawlinsons Director in September 2020.
Leonard is a highly skilled cost manager who is adept in helping move ideas from concept, through design and into project delivery. His considerable experience, developed through dozens of projects in New Zealand and overseas, means that he can uncover possibilities and foresee possible challenges, particularly at early concept stages, and then devise options to mitigate risk and impact.
Proficient in project staging, Leonard ensures that each phase of a project is carefully managed to meet budget constraints, and balances this strong budget management with achieving maximum value for his clients.
Leonard epitomises Rawlinsons ‘one-team’ ethos by sharing his knowledge and stepping in, and up, wherever required to support colleagues, and to benefit the overall project.
He has worked across a range of sectors, including hospitals, schools, offices, theatres, sport centres, residential complexes and more, and holds a particular affinity for public-good projects which really matter to the communities they are built to serve.
